The plot centres on a huge diamond stolen from the Orthodox Jewish diamond district in Antwerp by a gang of armed robberies. The diamond's thief and courier, Franky Four Fingers (Benicio Del Toro) must deliver the valuable gem to his crime boss, "Cousin Avi" (Dennis Farina) in America. First he travels to England to give smaller stones to Avi's cousin, Doug "The Head" (Mike Reid) and other local Hatton Garden jewelers. But instead, hapless Franky is drawn into the whirlpool of rather undesirable events. In London he can't help placing a bet on an illegal boxing bout by Boris "The Blade" (Rade Serbedzija) who proves to have taken him over - local pawnshop owners Vincent (Robbie Gee) and Sol (Lennie James), along with their getaway driver, Tyrone (Ade) waylay and rob him at the bookies. As expected, the diamond goes missing. When bad news reaches Avi's ears, he blows off and rushes with a legendary hit man, 'Bullet Tooth' Tony (Vinnie Jones), to London to find Franky and the missing stone. Moreover, the priceless gem is hunted by cunning Mickey O'Neil (Brad Pitt), morose Brick Top (Alan Ford) and many other miscreants, each of whom strives to hit the jackpot.

"You show me how to control a wild fucking gypsy and I'll show you how to control an unhinged, pig-feeding gangster." This film is freaking hilarious, I never get tired of it. Guy Ritchie is a genius, and this is his best work up to date, both in writing and in directing. And by the way, Brad Pitt's character in this is just priceless. Definitely worth a watch.

The cinematography and performances are fantastic as well. EvThe performances. Brad Pitt. Absolutely amazing, as he delivers a funny performance, that is funny because we don't know what the heck he is talking about. But in other way, it isn't always funny, and that was very interesting, because Brad Pitt achieved to perform a funny role when it had to be and a serious role when it had to be.en the soundtrack is perfect.

Awesome! Turkish (Jason Statham), boxing promoter gets into trouble when he becomes involved in big time criminal Brick Top (Alan Ford), who wants him to arrange a fight. Things get complicated when the boxer they had lined up gets the shit kicked out of him by a 'pikey' Mickey (Brad Pitt). Meanwhile, a diamond theft Franky Four Fingers (Benicio Del Toro), goes down but the 84 karat stone he stole goes missing. This leads Avi (Dennis Farina), the boss who was supposed to receive the stone, to come to England to search for it, with the help of his cousin, Doug The Head (Mike Reid) and Bullet Tooth Tony (Vinnie Jones). As events twist and turn, the two situations blend into one with a chain reaction of events carrying on for each and every character. Great set of actors, interesting way of filming, great characters. The movie is awesome. ............................................................................................................................ Avi: Should I call you Bullet? Tooth? Bullet Tooth Tony: You can call me Susan if it makes you happy. ............................................................................................................................ Bullet Tooth Tony: Boris the Blade? As in Boris the Bullet-Dodger? Avi: Why do they call him the Bullet-Dodger? Bullet Tooth Tony: 'Cause he dodges bullets, Avi. ............................................................................................................................ Bullet Tooth Tony: You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity. ............................................................................................................................ Avi: Eighty-six carats. Rosebud: Where? Avi: London. Rosebud: London? Avi: London. Avi's Colleague: London? Avi: Yes, London. You know: fish, chips, cup 'o tea, bad food, worse weather, Mary fucking Poppins... LONDON. ............................................................................................................................ Tyrone: I don't want that dog dribbling on my seats. Vinny: Your seats? Tyrone, this is a stolen car, mate. ............................................................................................................................ Boris 'The Blade' Yurinov: [referring to Tommy's gun] Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it. ............................................................................................................................

Guy Ritchie's second feature is an effective gangster film that strikes a balance between drama and parody. Ritchie is an incredibly gifted visual director whose style is a tribute to the kinetic, hyperrealistic MTV aesthetics. In addition to his technical prowess Ritchie displays a strong sense for storytelling. He interweaves different storylines which ultimately coalesce. The dramaturgy is economical incorporating several small climaxes and a final twist. The characters are designed as types but Ritchie still takes time to flesh them out adequately. Their motivations are clearly defined. The interplay of the images and the sound is particularly notable and deserves special attention. Ritchie accompanies the action set pieces with a vibrant, energetic soundtrack that highlights the visceral tension. 'Snatch' demonstrates Ritchie's directorial talent. The performances are topnotch across the board, the editing is crisp and well-paced and the cinematography is inventive and refreshing. Overall, it is a highly entertaining film.

So far (and more than likely) the peak of director Guy Ritchie's career. Instead of completely ape-ing Tarantino, Ritchie finds his own voice and takes us along for the ride with his kaleidoscope of oddball low life crook characters. Brad Pitt is spot on, and very funny, as a gypsy boxer.
